A people-owned solar business you can pledge into, and a cooperative that helps Jamaicans buy land together so everyone gets their own title. Both are owned by the people who join them.
The solar energy business — and only that. It is the one thing the collective is building first, funded by our own pooled money. Your pledge is a stake in that company, not a donation, and not a payment toward anyone's land.
No. A pledge is not a payment. You are registering your intent to contribute $125 per share when the funding milestone is reached. No money changes hands until the milestone is hit and you confirm. If the milestone is never reached, nothing is ever charged.
Focus. We build one thing well — the solar business — instead of spreading thin. If solar succeeds, the profits the people own can seed the next ventures Jamaica needs, like rebuilding the national airline and startup incubators. Solar first, then the rest.
You fund your own land with your own money. The cooperative simply groups buyers with similar needs, buys a larger plot at a better price, subdivides it so each member receives their own individual title, and handles the surveys and legal work properly. We collect everyone's needs first and only buy once we know the real demand.
No — the opposite. You own your lot outright, with your own title in your name, to build on, keep, or pass to your children. The co-op is only the vehicle for buying together; it does not hold your land.
No. They are completely separate. The solar pledge funds the solar business. Your land is funded by you. The co-op never takes your money — it just pools buying power so the price is lower and the legal side is handled.
We are incorporating as a cooperative in Jamaica with legal counsel. The pledge phase is a pre-registration of intent, not a regulated financial offering. Before any funds are collected, the proper structure and documentation will be in place and published.
Nothing is charged and your pledge is cancelled automatically. You can watch the count in real time on the numbers page. There is no scenario where money is taken without the milestone being reached.
Yes. The diaspora is central to this. Jamaicans in the UK, USA, Canada, the Caribbean and anywhere else can pledge into solar and register interest in land.
One short, honest email a week: where the numbers stand, any moves worth reporting, and the latest videos. No spam, unsubscribe any time. You can sign up from the newsletter page or the footer.
The founder is on the About page. The plan is to govern decisions with elected member representation and publish the numbers openly. Trust is meant to be earned through transparency — so scrutinise it, and everything we publish is built to hold up.
